Your crashing problem is an EMU problem, not a vista issue. I don't know the details of it, but some seem to think its because there are too many servers on the list, and its bunging...

Before Sony allowed Alt-Tab to work in EQ, WinEQ was necassary to switch between accounts that way. I believe it was eventually a legal issue that forced sony to implement that functionality.

I used to get the same error on live, and it never effected gameplay there, so i just ignored it (like i am doing now :D)

I noticed for compression 7zip was notably compact, but so much slower (doubly slow for decompression it seemed) that it wasnt worth the small difference...
