My EQEmu shortcut was set to:
"C:\Program Files\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
(which is directed at the folder containing my 1999 EQ installation I've been toying with)

I tried that version of DirectX and nothing changed, so I also tried DX versions from April 2006 and April 2005.

I currently have that driver installed, but I re-downloaded it anyway to try again,...
