Its because of your underworld setting in your db, i had the same problem the problem occurs when your ground dips below 0 z try setting underworld to -200 or so and see if that helps it fixed it for...

All my target_zone fields are set to 0
buffer and targetzone got swapped when i ran the sql queries that was the problem
