Another beautiful thing is that it gives the the Item numbers and he has his custom item editor so you look at any weapon you want, find the IT number and Pop it in your DB with his editor and BAM...

Not sure if they do delete old post's all the time but is300.net (http://is300.net/forum/) seems fast as heck for 5k users and 300k+ articles and they are using phpbb...

I Don't know why you think phpbb sucks so much, I mean I use it on my site and for a free php forum it is increadibly flexible and fast.. I wouldn't have a single bad thing to say about it.
