Well, I'm not going to harp on this much longer, but when internet started there was no dns, just IP-

In a nutshell, the guy who started dns did because he had trouble remembering the ip address to the sites. So he devised a system which provided names for the ip numbers. Everyone else profited from this idea but him; he's still "broke".
Anyways, it's very simple: take away the "name", and use the number - that will by-pass all the name resolving, and takes you straight to the site.
