Vanessa, as far as the calling and phone numbers thing, I am only going to assume your on Dial-Up internet. To clear up what the others have said,

The only time you dial a number is when your connecting to the internet through your Internet Service Provider (ISP's like AOL, Earthling, MSN)

Once you do that, your link to the internet in its whole. You go anywhere from that point. You request information (data) from other places, and it travels through the internet back to your computer. The same applies to Everquest, and this Everquest Server Emulator.

Everquest is a Online Game that requires you to connect to Game Servers in order to play. The EQEmu site your on now is what's called a Server Emulator, meaning that we/you can make a server that is similar to the ones used by the Everquest Developers (Sony Online Entertainment). There servers require that you pay a monthly fee to play and here you dont have too.

The only thing you have to have in order to play with us here is a copy of Everquest Titanium, which can only be purchased from online shops like E-Bay or Amazon.com. You can no longer find it in retail stores like GameStop, EB Games, Wal-Mart ect....

Once you have this all you have to do is install it and then make a little change to a file to tell it to connect to us here instead of Sony. This is not that hard and I would suggest that you take a look at the guide linked in my signature for steps on how to do this.

Hope this sheds a little more light into your questions and good luck.
