I cannot remember if there is a gm command to show current AA exp points. I am pretty sure there is a # that appears on your screen when you gain XP. Maybe you can take a before/after then after-kill total to check it out.
The only thing I can imagine that might take that away (even temporarily) is if the new AA xp was not written out properly before zoning... but then, it shouldn't snap back to expected value after a single kill either. Interesting.
