I thought so, you know, I removed all that for a reason - since PEQ is really so far ahead of AX_CLASSIC; light years ahead in zones like POP, etc. I just got a bug to do custom work in some of the older zones. I thought some people might like a change of pace once in a while, and play something a little different. But most people who have/play my database never even looked at things like the new Swamp of no Hope / Kerra Ridge towns (weeks of work there). Well, I enjoyed playing there anyway .
The database has 'Moonstones' (gatestones) that drop around or near the starter zones, and also can be quested. The idea was to get people to at least see older zones, and ride the boats a few times before starting with the warping ( took us a month to figure out a fool-proof boat system).
I started a ranger, his first moonstone was a drop in Crushbone, (Gate to Gfay). I then Quested off the Norrath Adventurer, two moonstones; gate-to-bindspot and a bind-stone, the last quest is a gate-toPoK, but it's hard and involves ubber dungeons (working on it, when I have time). These quests involved going to dungeon zones all around Norrath, and I had to use the boat. Since Qadar made the quests, they were new and strange to me ( I just made the Moonstones).
Enter the PoK books, and surely no one will do, play, or want any of the above. Everquest Titanium, is a game, in a game, in a game, in a game ...
To SOE and their team of many developers, this meant more money to their pockets (kept you buying expansions) - To EqEmu (and its few developers), it just means more mayhem.
So, when you make a server, I would think it requires some planning; 'Which game of Everquest will we play?' PEQ database has them all, and defaults to the newest possible expansions; and if you plan to make that your server, PEQ Server has that well covered (PEQ server follows live as close as possible and has all that attention). But PEQ database has more games to play; it has Classic, Progression, LoY, Kunark, Vellious, etc.You just have to figure out how to make it happen. Keep in mind, when you open up a higher expansion, the older expansions quests, drops, mobs, become obsolete.
There is a folder I placed in the AX package called 'convert_back' , that will place the books, scions, etc. But you can better source in the PEQ database and get more content in the newer zones, You can source in PEQ and keep you accounts, etc. from ax_classic - it's all the same there.
