This may or may not help, but I had an issue similar to yours when I first got the emu going. If I ran from zone to zone, it would work fine, but when I tried to use books or doors or #zone I would get similar errors. It turned out to be an issue with my db. I ended up putting in a number of debug statements before I figured it out though. Make sure you have the lastes DB with your source and make sure it sourced into the database without issue. Other than that I don't know.
