I've always seen it as sort of a personal preference.
Ogres generally cannot be stunned from the front, trolls regenerate a little damage.
And if you're using the old models, they both do 'the scratch'. Regardless, unless you're really into pinching every point and ability till they scream, I think it's a wash.
Then again, if you intend to solo more than group, having a little regen would cut down the downtime by a fractional amount.
