Can you post the output from your Everquest/logs/dbg.txt file? Maybe the version is incorrect. Also, did you copy any files into your Underfoot installation other than what comes directly from the Steam download? And have you tried servers like PEQ or Storm Haven that are definitely compatible with that client version? Some servers are not compatible with it, though I think most should be.
