If they didnt make money, then all we would have to play is the emulator because Verant would fold.
I can't see how creating a premium service can be considered being a Predator company. A predator company would wait till everyone was hooked, then start jerking the prices up. Or, removing services they use to provide, and charging out the nose for them. They are making a value added service, for people that want that level of interaction in the game. I dont recall them ever promising huge daily GM events. I think what happened is they probably planned that originally, and realized they couldnt pull it off as the player population exploded.. Im looking over the promotional matieral on their website
