The only way to get EQ running if it has been updated via eq servers is to run the eqemu patcher or restore to I believe January 9th's updates. I was able to get eqemu running fine on my xp box. The patcher I had some problems with, but that was easily solved by uninstalling it and then reinstalling a freshly downloaded version. I'm also running eqgame.exe patchme just fine. There are several threads on this subject. I recommend using the search tool on this bb, it works great.
