Errg, Im sorry but this is bull. It was just as much bull last night, when gms were telling everyone not to use class defining abilitys as well.(IE necros couldnt use lifetap over time spells WTF) I understand the point of trying to keep the server legit and exploit free, its a noble goal, but I also know that , before i even knew this was an exploit, I was doing this, and i was STILL getting owned by white & DBlue cons.
And whats worse, Last night did smack of Mcarthy ism,
"If you see someone exploiting, make sure to inform us, who knows, you might even get a cookie" The jist of what 1 gm said last night.
Thats about |____| this far from being a witch hunt.
Now with my lil rant out of the way...
Image please bring the server back. Frankily your server is a testamant of EQEmu as a whole as no other server came anywhere close to allow the stability found there. I mean come on, 100 + people on at a time, and actually being able to log in. Sure the bugs were there, we all delt with them, like not being able to sack citys, or the pet bug, I think we all managed. The regen bug was a little harder to control, seeings as many classes had spells that it was a natural part of the casters abilitys. Should people be able to get 100 hp per tick, of course not, But utterly laying waste to the server, to never be opened again, cmon. I think everyone would agree, to put the server down, while there is time to repair what needs to be repaired, would be a much better resolution here.
I agree whole heartedly, exploits are bad(never could figure out why everyone wants to race to get to a point where the game is no fun to them any more) But there are a lot of people who were trying to be decent, and trying to not use exploit tation to advance themselves. Its your server and you can do what you want with it, But you are kinda giving the cold shoulder to the people, if im not mistaken, you originally set the server up for. Those good people who wanted to play to enjoy themself, and be fair upstanding citizens of this virtual community.
Please, bring it back. The world isnt perfect, but things can be fixed, but only if you try.
