2 gig of ram on a game machine will net you nothing. I've been running 1 gig to 1.5 gig for quite a while on the last 5 machines i have built in the last year or so. No matter what game I load I've always have a ton of memory left over for other apps. Even tweaking memory settings to max on any game doesn't soak a gig of ram not even close. I've got two mobos based on the nforce2 here at the house and they are friggin rocks. they perform well asus makes some of the best and most stable boards out there thats why alien goes with them. You are paying one heck of a premium for the 3.2ghz P4 I don't know if you would notice the frame rate increase to justify the 200mhz increase in the proc. You are also paying a heafty premium for the 5900 I'd save a hundred bucks or so and go with the ATI 9800 pro at this point. I will say you will see more from an extra 128mb of ram on the video card than you will 1gb of ram in the system. This thing will break the bank and will give you major buyers remorse in about a year. I think you are paying 1500 hundred bucks more or so just so you can say you have the biggest cock for 3 to 6 months until the next big thing comes out. Been there done that. I personally buy to much computer stuff to stay on the bleeding edge. I've got a GF4 on an 8DRA+ Epoch board running 1gb ram oc'ed athlon at 2250mhz it runs everything out there well and I didn't spend 3k to put it together. I will be upgrading the vid card soon now that the market is finally putting out decent dx9 cards that are decently priced. I've seen alot of Alienware machines and I have never seen one with a problem. I personally couldn't spend it.
