These are the things I did to fix the 1002 error...
1) I patched Everquest to the EQLive server.
2) I then replaced the files using my *****.zip
3) Checked the Data_Rate.txt and changed it to 5.0 instead of 8.0
4) Downloaded the mini login for 4.4 servers
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/eqemu/MiniLogin.zip
5) ran this command in the command prompt "c:\eqemu\binaries\world adduser eqemu eqemu 200"
And then everything was all good... Hope this helps those who are fustrated
I know that I may not have been a big help with the project but every obstacle I face and overcome, I'll share it with everyone because I know the fustration of attempting to discover problems/solutions by yourself.
