To play on live servers you will need to patch up to date, which means you cannot play on EQEmu until 5.0DR3 is released (date as yet unknown)

EDIT: Warning: If you start on EQLive it may well suck up your life full time for years to come I played EQLive every spare moment for a year or more before I finally quit I like the Emu because I can dip into it for a short time just for 'old times sake' ... not as addictive as the real 'Hard' drug :P
