1) You cannot play without the new files at the moment, but it sounds like you know that
2) No warez, which means...bleh, you cannot play at this very moment
But I feel for ya, my real life friend reformatted and lost everything now I can't play with him on Winter's Roar, it sucks. But overall, I would just wait until next release, no ETA, don't ask hehe.
