1. The TCS MyWorld database has a decently up-to-date npc_types database. There are very few faction entries in it though. You can get it at

3. What limited experience I had with it, it screwed up big time. Some of the biggest problems might have been fixed in the latest CVS if you wanna give it another try, but backup your old executables (client and server) and MySQL database beforehand so you can roll back .
