Editing items with mysql front? Mangoo's item editor and kai

I cant seem to get either of those item editors to work. But mysql front connects to my db fine. i enter the ip for the db 192.168.1.101 and my user/pass and location to everquest, its all cool. but for some reason they wont connect. i know its something im doing. If it makes any difference i have a router. If i could edit using mysql front could someone please explain to me how, when i go under items i see only a handfull in front. Thanx.
