Question Aug Crashes Client/Zone

Im having trouble using some augs inserted into items. I go link dead after trying to insert one of the proper type into an item. I tried google searching and searching on the forums here but not finding much info. Is there a reason that trying to insert an aug crashes the client? Certain augs work while others dont? Would appreciate if anyone has any info.

I haven't had any augs cause that problem so far on my server and I have a decent amount available. I do know that there are issues with inserting Lore augs sometimes that are already on another piece of gear, but I haven't heard of it causing a crash. Normally, it just makes the item so that it can't be removed from the aug pool.

Maybe post the stats and any special attributes of the aug. And, have you confirmed that it happens every time with that particular aug, or just sometimes? Also, have you tried the same aug in another piece of equipment to see if it still happens, or is it only certain combinations of augs/items? I would think that there might be issues with having multiple worn/click/focus effects on a single item. Could that be the case? The augs I use are only hps/mana/end and maybe +damage or +shielding/accurace/etc.

Ok, I was using Augmentation Sealer (container I summoned) and using that crashes my client, possible whole zone. So I tried the bird bath in ecommons and the aug worked correctly.

Thanks Trevius, as always, for reply.

So any feed back from GMs using augs for a long time? Do they all work, just need to use bird baths? Thinking about adding hp and aggro augs to raid zones for loot.

With the aug pools, they work perfectly from what I have seen. Just make sure to warn your players that if they close the pool, they will lose their items! You have no idea how many players I had reporting this issue until I put a warning NPC in next to the pool I added to nexus. If you need info on adding a pool in, there is a wiki on it I think and a few good posts. I can probably find the one I used to add a pool to nexus if you need a link.

The only other issue to watch out for with augs is the issue with LORE augs. If someone has a lore aug and sticks it in an item, it is almost as if the LORE status of that aug disappears, because you can loot another lore aug. If you put an item with a lore aug (that you have in another slot as well) into a container, there is no way to remove it and it will poof when you close the container. And by container, I don't mean a bag, I mean a pool mainly.

Good info Trevius, thanks. I'll watch out for lore aug. Was having trouble on my google/forum searches finding much info on this topic.

Is the 'pool' like a door? If so, then Im assuming you can put that only in certain zones like some 'doors' work? Since you mentioned you put one in Nexus, then it appears thats a good place to start. So far I tested with the one in ecommons.

Have you experimented with making your own augs? Taking a pre existing one, copy it, and editing the stats?

Ok, found out it was objects table. Found out which record in zoneid 22 (ecommons) was bird bath, then copy/pasted that into a new record of an ID that is +1 higher than the highest ID for objects to make unque ID, then edited zone ID to be 26 (cshome) with correct XYZ. It worked! Gotta do more testing with augs to find out what I want to release. Will add bird bath to nexus when Im ready.

About the 'lore' augs. What if I remove the lore status from an aug? Will that still bug an item? Also, kinda confused, but do you mean that if someones item already has a lore aug in it, and they put it into the bird path with the intent of adding another aug, that they wont be able to get their item back?

Thanks for the help Trevius.
