Default few quick questions

Hey everybody,

Sorry, I find all of this a little confusing. I just installed a fresh titanium, and I haven't patched anything yet. However, I made the shortcut and added the "patchme" without the quotation exactly like the guide shows. I changed the numbers on the host file as well. Now, when I click on the shortcut it tries to start but then it shows an error message saying that the program encountered a problem and must close.

Now, before I go further. Could somebody explain to me the EQEmu files that can be downloaded....and what does 0.7.0 mean exactly (I realize it is the newest EQEmu)...but what do I do with the files exactly? Where do I put them and how do I use them?

I freshly installed titanium, I changed the host file numbers, and I added patchme. What else do I have to do to get this to work? Something to do with this 0.7.0 version that adds support for fresh titanium installs.....but how do I use it? I've checked every "getting started" guide and there is nothing. What do I do?

@_@

Have you seriously read the wikki?

Everything you're asking is covered there. Instead of reading the section about playing, how about reading the part about hosting your server as well since that is what you're doing. Since you've read up the the "getting started" part of the wikki, I'm assuming you've read the rest as well? Because I don't think anyone is going to walk you through something that the wikki already extensively covers.

I'm sorry, I was quick to jump to conclusions. I have everything set up right...I guess it's just a bug or something causing EQ to crash on startup. It says that I should get these certain nvidia drivers.....but I have a worse problem now. I download the drivers they ask...but they won't install...

stupid 6800 ultra mobile.....

thanks i'll figure it out from here

>_<

If you're having technical issues with the game, then it might be better to browse through the technical support forum on the official EQ site instead. There's only so much help we can offer and it being mostly for the EMU, you have a better chance of getting your problem solved there.

Of course it wouldn't be wise at all to bring up that you're connecting to an EMU server. :p But if it's strictly hardware related to the game itself, then you might want to check there. I found tons of posts relating to the infamous 1017 issue as well as posts for re-familiarizing myself with the game after not playing it for almost a year now.

As for the mobile GPU drivers issue, make sure that the driver itself has support for it. There's certain drivers that Nvidia put out that has support for certain moblie GPUs. Just because EQ told you that you should download drivers doesn't mean that they're not meant for the game. Remember, you're getting info from a game that hasn't patched, and I'm almost certain that certain driver it told you to download is old info. Not to mention that waring is as generic as it gets as far as getting support for a game goes. :p
