Default Cleave (Critical Hit Line)

The spells that increase the critical hit rate are currently broken. Most noticibly is the Cleave line (Cleave I/II/III) that is an effect on items. On live the effects should give you a (let's say 40%) increase in change of critical hits. On EMU I and others on my server the line actually caused you to crit 40% of your attacks. Might be just a simple math error in the code, hope this helps.

Other evidence of the double-hit spells doing the same sort of thing but haven't parsed any deffinate proof. Thanks!

Ok... I made a berz. lvl 70, gave him some oow tier 2 armor...

The boots have Cleave 4 or 5... bought 3 lvls of combat fury

He crit every hit... so i agree with you, should be a 40% increase instead of 40% of your melee hits!

Ahh, so that's why I am seeing monks do nothing but crits for (6500) and (-3) heh. Haven't figured out that -3 yet, unless it's just an overflow.

Is it when the MOB is Enraged by any chance?

Nope, I am talking about PC's that are fighting along side me. Here's a small example of a few seconds worth of their combat:

Code:
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:51 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(4966)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:51 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(106)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:51 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(-1)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:51 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(1892)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:53 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(-1)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:53 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(1156)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:53 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(4158)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:53 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(2994)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:54 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(4728)
[Mon Aug 14 21:02:54 2006] Monk scores a critical hit!(2978)
Amazingly strong monk! What's almost more disturbing than a monk having an average 2500dps, is the negative (-1, -3) numbers I see a lot during these flurries. I am not positive, but I think these huge crit numbers appeared after we got AA's to stick. Not sure they had Crits before then? I am not a monk, so I do not know for sure.

Sorry to bump and old topic, but since it pertains to this I thought I'd just post here. The cleave items are bugged, but I think it's just Cleave II items added with Combat Stabilty AA. FNW mentioned that since the level cap has been raised the code hasn't been updated and they'll probably get around to it.

Thanks for the bump, now I don't feel bad adding info. HAH. j/k

Something (I think) we discovered was, when the crit damages fall into the negative like that is when the mob is "engraged" and cannot be hit. Rather than the attempt becoming a miss, it seems to crit for -3 rather persistently.

Not sure if this has anything to do with this entire thread or not.
