Default Creating a lan server-Confusion!

Some background before I go on. This is my first time messing with MySQL and perl, so I'm pretty much all over the place.

I've been following the directions pretty dead on from http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...indowsServer70 and I'm at the part where I'm supposed to edit the eqemu_config.xml . I installed both cavemans and the PEQ database. I open the .xml file and the following pops up.

Quote:
The XML page cannot be displayed

Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Expecting whitespace or '?'. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/EQEmu/eqemu_config.xml'. Line 1, Position 20

<?xml version="1.0">
Eh?

What I'm trying to do is set up a lan server for a group of friends. I want to act as a sort of lame D&D GM and set up quests and the like for this group of friends to complete. You know, clearing something like CB and getting XP, or killing a certain badguy and handing out a piece of loot for everyone.

Eventually, I want to make some specialized items for my buds, but that's a long ways down the line.

I'm absolutely clueless as to what I'm supposed to do. I followed the directions directly and they didn't direct me in the right direction. Heeelp.
