Default Upstream Bandwith Usage?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but the general server discussion forum didn't seem to have any threads related to the workings of the servers... Sooo...

I'm wondering about how much upstream (From the server to the clients) bandwith is needed per client connected to it. I'm planning on creating a server (Perhaps just for my friends and all) and want to make sure my connection can handle it. Especially if I decide to open it up to others and I get more people that what I'm expecting, this could be an important thing to know.

Thanks much!

Bleh, 5 minutes to edit, so I'll post again.

Which of those figures are accurate? There is 2-4k/s and 4-5k/s quoted in there. And unfortunately I only get a max of 50KB/s upload with my connection which depending on which of those figures are correct might make it so I can't even get all my friends / game friends on at once if we wanted to.

Perhaps I'll have to get the faster connection I was thinking of getting afterall.

And is that kilobits or bytes? As if it's bits then I could have a ton more players than if it's in bytes... The whole KB / Kb thing... Hard to tell since the one post is both lowercase and the other has no "b" in it...

Everything depends on how good you are, a new person with no knowledge of what there doing will probable be more at 10-12KB range (or higher), while a skilled programmer will be at 2-4KB.

Also you will need a computer dedicated to nothing but running it, you cant run other programs, or have other things running.

On your connection I could see you getting 10 on with some lag.
