Default Cannot enter world after char select

Hello

Lately I have been having a very hard time logging into the server I play on with any character, it goes from char select to the picture of the werewolf and just hangs there until i have to close out the EQ window and start it again. Is there some settings that are not correct on my part? I just cant seem to get into the world from char select unless I get lucky and make it in. I'm using winXP and have a program that sets the affinity to 0. I can log into other servers without any problems on the first time, so is there something else i can do?

thanks

Since you are running a dual core CPU, you will want to check out this post and try some of the suggestions that apply to you there:

Don't count out the possibility that you're conecting to a server thats having issues either. Just make sure to try it out on another server and note if you're having the same issue. And as Trev said, Everquest is really starting to show it's age and doesn't play nice with some of the newer systems. Untill Nvidia updated their drivers I had to edit out shading and many other features when I upgraded to my 8800GTX and Vista 64bit Ultimate :( It works fine now, but I had to do a lot of tweaking with drivers at first.
