Default Making new server and backing up old one

I had a server up a while ago, but I had to take it down due to problems with random loot. I was thinking about making a new server just for me and some friends to play on, so how could I make the new server and keep the same configurations so I don't have to go through all that stuff again, but save my custom content as well for if I can ever fix the random loot problem? Basically, I want to save all the content from my old server in case I can fix the problems with it, and I want to have a new server in its place.

If you use navicat for managing your database, you can just right click your database and select to dump it to a file. That will back everything up and is good practice to do regularly anyway.

Then, you can just make a new database or overwrite your old one and load up the PEQ DB or whatever you want on it. You will also need to make sure that the server code you get matches the revision of the database you are using. Make sure to get the server code from the SVN.

Then, you might just need to adjust your server config file slightly to point to your new database if you created a new one and then you should be ready to go.

That is a brief overview of what to do. To make a step by step guide would be quite a pain lol.

The latest binaries can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/projecteqemu/

As for the latest database, that depends on which one you want to use. If you are using PEQ, then you should be able to get the matching database revision to go with those binaries from the PEQ site here:
http://www.projecteq.net/

Ok, thanks. I created my new database and put the files in it and I switched my config file to use my new database, but when I try to run the server, it doesn't show up on the server selection screen. Is there a step I am missing other than just making the new db?

And also, at projecteq.net, what do I download to go with the rev408 I downloaded from the other site? I can't seem to find what would match up with it.
