Default Skill hotkeys

I gave my bard backstab by changing the cap from 66 (all classes apparently get all skills at 66) to 50 (my bard is 55) and leveled it to 50 but I can't find a way to get the hotkey button. I can't train at the GM (probably cause he doesn't know it himself) and there are options in the UI ini for each characters abilities. I set it to 8 but it never showed up and when I camp it resets back to -1 in the ini. I know 8 is right cause I checked a rogue character.
Is the only option to code in backstab to the gm or is there a way to give the hotbutton or train it another way? I figure its client side cause the server knows bards know get backstab at 50. I just can't find a way around it.

*nod*, the client knows too much about some things.

There is a text file in some versions of the game that contains skill caps. It is possible that changing that might convince your copy of the game to allow your bard to have the backstab skill.

I don't remember the name of the file, nor do I know if titanium has a copy of it, nor do I know if changing it will make a difference.... Lots of help I am, eh?

I made a rogue, trained in backstab, turned him into a bard and boosted him to 50 where I set bards to have backstab. He lost the backstab skill in the skill list but still had the backstab hotkey but still can't backstab. Anyone have any ideas how to give bards backstab? Thanks.

I don't believe you can give skills like that to other classes. I tried to give clerics dual wield a while back and It didn't let them even equip a second weapon. I think you can't change it unless you probably do some major editing to the source code.

It is a limitation of the client and so not a possibility for the Emulator. And, you are replying to a 2 year old thread! It is unlikely that the original poster would ever respond to your question :P

The client won't let you, so you can't. Just like I already said in this thread! :P
