Default EqHost.txt???

I went into C/Program Files/Sony/Everquest and can't find the EQHost.txt file. I am at a loss as to what I should be doing. I am not a computer whiz by any means and need some guidance.

Assuming you are running Windows here.

Did you see a file called just EQHost without the .txt extension. It is possible under your folder options you have the default option to "Hide known file extensions" enabled. So EQHost.txt would be showing up as only EQHost.

Click on My Computer. Then Tools --> Folder Options. Click on the View tab. Uncheck the box at the bottom of the Advanced settings window that says Hide extensions for known file types.

See if you can find the file then.

OK I just posted found this after posting a new thread. I'm having the same issue.

I checked the folder properties and I see that's set to read only. So I tried to change the settings to admin but, either I'm doing something wrong, or it can't be done? Cause after I supposedly apply the admin attributes, nothing happens and it goes back to not being able to edit/replace the file.

Thank you! I just found the answer on another forum too.

So.. go to the notepad, right click the icon and select Run as Admin does the trick!
