Mouse locked

Hello there. Sorry if I'm asking a silly question, but I have completed all the steps for setting everything up. I'm not any kind of computer whiz but I can follow instructions fairly well. However, I have an issue where the mouse is locked in various places and responds to clicks, yet I cannot move the pointer. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to do. Thanks for your time!
