Can log in, but can only see text

I've recently gotten my EQ freshly installed and working, but when I try to load into the game, I get this to happen:

The same thing happens on the character select screen. I've tried messing with all the resolution settings, but nothing seems to work. Doesn't seem like anyone else has encountered this problem (found no other threads talking about it) so I'm not really sure what to do.
