Lava Storm
So I am using the latest PEQ database. I am wondering, it seems all of the zones to lavastorm are way off. Coming from Nekktulos, you end up in lava. If you exit Sol A or B you end up in the air with no way of moving.
Has anyone else encountered this and if so, is their a fix out there?

What client are you using? That happened to me on the Titanium client when I renamed the lavastorm.eqg file to try and restore the old version of Lavastorm.

Yeah I suppose the client would have been some pertinent information to have, sorry about that. I too am using the Titanium Client.

According to the post:
Quote:
Nektulos.emt
nektulos.s3d
Nektulos_chr
Nektulos_chr.s3d
Nektulos_obj.s3d
Nektulos_obj1.eqg
Nektulos_soundbank.eff
Nektulos_sounds.eff
These are the only Nektulos files you need to have in your clients directory to get the zone to work correctly more or less. You still need to do some modifications in the PEQDB under Zone_points. you need to
change the x y z coords from ecommons neriaka and lavastorm and set the client_version_mask to 4294967295 for those 3 zones. Make sure you take out the second entry for each zone so it doesn't try and
zone you to a ghost zone instead of the old. Also you need to go to the doors db to fix the pok book. The entry for nektulos is called POKNRKPORT500 remove the second entry with the same name as this
and change the first entrys x y z coords to right where the pok book is in the old nektulos and change the client_version_mask to 4294967295. Also the ingame map for nektulos is wrong you will hafto
download the original map from http://www.mapfiend.net/map/nektulos/166 thats the correct map to use. Just delete the old map out of your clients maps folder and replace it with the one you
download. If you do all this correctly then when you zone from any zone or use the pok book it will put you in the correct zone and your mob pathing will be fixed aswell. Make sure you click show all in heidisql
so you see all the db entrys or it wont show the extra entrys for Zone_Points and Doors DB.
|
So I went to Mapfiend, and I downloaded the Combined map, and the text seems to be correct.
When I look at the database, there are several entries for Lavastorm, Nektulos, etc. Most have the correct client_version_mask:
http://prntscr.com/3kfnmp - Lavastorm
http://prntscr.com/3kfo0z - Nektulos
So I am unsure which file to edit. The one with the "3" as the Client_Version_Mask?
Which brings up another question, I see a lot of zones with a "3" for a mask, do I need to edit these zones as well so that they are classic zones from 1999?
For now I am attempting to have the game play with the first three expansions, Everquest, Kunark, and Velious. So I would like the game play to be exact for those expansions.
Thanks in advance. I want to get it working before releasing the server.

Unfortunately I can't help you on editing your database. That is one thing that I haven't really tried, except to put in a couple variables into the Launch section and increasing the zone shutdown time. As I said in my first post, I had the exact same problem when I tried to zone into Lavastorm from Nektulos. I did everything they mentioned there, except edit the zone files in my database. Mine seems to be working, though I still have the newer version of Lavastorm, but at least I can zone in and zone out again. You will need to get someone more experienced with the database to help you with the kind of editing you need to restore the original version of Lavastorm.

So still unsure what to do here. Nektulos and Lavastorm (Okay unsure about Lavastorm as I cannot zone into it without going into Lava and instant dying), but they appear to be the old files, at least Nektulos is the old looking graphics. I renamed nektulos to nektulos.eqg.bak, and as soon as I zone in, Lava death.
I am stuck here, want the old original zones and the ability to zone into those zones, but Lavastorm seems to be the screwed up zone. As I said, Nektulos from EC or Neriak zone properly.
Any suggestions on what I truly need to fix this issue?

Backup your Zone_Points table then try to run this as a query and see if it fixes things. If it doesn't just restore your backed up Zone_Points table. I believe the old lavastorm had some kind of clip plane issue with PEQdb or in old versions of it. I remember having some kind of Lavastorm issue when doing stuff with my zone_points or when I was changing over the newer zones back into the older classic original file versions around that same time. I ended up saving a SQL file for it in case I ever needed it again. Let me know if it does the trick or not.
Quote:
INSERT INTO `zone` (`short_name`, `id`, `file_name`, `long_name`, `map_file_name`, `safe_x`, `safe_y`, `safe_z`, `graveyard_id`, `min_level`, `min_status`, `zoneidnumber`, `version`, `timezone`, `maxclients`, `weather`, `ruleset`, `note`, `underworld`, `minclip`, `maxclip`, `fog_minclip`, `fog_maxclip`, `fog_blue`, `fog_red`, `fog_green`, `sky`, `ztype`, `zone_exp_multiplier`, `walkspeed`, `time_type`, `fog_red1`, `fog_green1`, `fog_blue1`, `fog_minclip1`, `fog_maxclip1`, `fog_red2`, `fog_green2`, `fog_blue2`, `fog_minclip2`, `fog_maxclip2`, `fog_red3`, `fog_green3`, `fog_blue3`, `fog_minclip3`, `fog_maxclip3`, `fog_red4`, `fog_green4`, `fog_blue4`, `fog_minclip4`, `fog_maxclip4`, `fog_density`, `flag_needed`, `canbind`, `cancombat`, `canlevitate`, `castoutdoor`, `hotzone`, `insttype`, `shutdowndelay`, `peqzone`, `expansion`, `suspendbuffs`, `type`) VALUES ('lavastorm', 202, '', 'The Lavastorm Mountains', NULL, -25, 182, -74, 0, 0, 0, 27, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, '', -230, 50, 1850, 10, 2000, 10, 255, 10, 1, 255, 1.00, 0.4, 1, 255, 50, 10, 10, 800, 255, 10, 10, 10, 1800, 255, 10, 10, 10, 1800, 255, 10, 10, 10, 1800, 0.33, '', 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 5000, 1, 1, 0, 0);

Sorry that was meant for the table zones so you should backup your zone table.

I believe you need your zoint_points Nektulos into Lavastorm adjust as well. You'd backup your Zone_Points table for those to be on the safe side though it should work.
Quote:
INSERT INTO `zone_points` (`id`, `zone`, `version`, `number`, `y`, `x`, `z`, `heading`, `target_x`, `target_y`, `target_z`, `target_heading`, `zoneinst`, `target_zone_id`, `target_instance`, `buffer`, `client_version_mask`) VALUES (1446, 'nektulos', 0, 3, 0, 0, 0, 0, -108.4, -2027.5, -14.5, 40.3, 0, 27, 0, 0, 4294967295);

In summary this goes into Zone table which you should backup first to be safe in case you need to revert.
Quote:
INSERT INTO `zone` (`short_name`, `id`, `file_name`, `long_name`, `map_file_name`, `safe_x`, `safe_y`, `safe_z`, `graveyard_id`, `min_level`, `min_status`, `zoneidnumber`, `version`, `timezone`, `maxclients`, `weather`, `ruleset`, `note`, `underworld`, `minclip`, `maxclip`, `fog_minclip`, `fog_maxclip`, `fog_blue`, `fog_red`, `fog_green`, `sky`, `ztype`, `zone_exp_multiplier`, `walkspeed`, `time_type`, `fog_red1`, `fog_green1`, `fog_blue1`, `fog_minclip1`, `fog_maxclip1`, `fog_red2`, `fog_green2`, `fog_blue2`, `fog_minclip2`, `fog_maxclip2`, `fog_red3`, `fog_green3`, `fog_blue3`, `fog_minclip3`, `fog_maxclip3`, `fog_red4`, `fog_green4`, `fog_blue4`, `fog_minclip4`, `fog_maxclip4`, `fog_density`, `flag_needed`, `canbind`, `cancombat`, `canlevitate`, `castoutdoor`, `hotzone`, `insttype`, `shutdowndelay`, `peqzone`, `expansion`, `suspendbuffs`, `type`) VALUES ('lavastorm', 202, '', 'The Lavastorm Mountains', NULL, -25, 182, -74, 0, 0, 0, 27, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, '', -230, 50, 1850, 10, 2000, 10, 255, 10, 1, 255, 1.00, 0.4, 1, 255, 50, 10, 10, 800, 255, 10, 10, 10, 1800, 255, 10, 10, 10, 1800, 255, 10, 10, 10, 1800, 0.33, '', 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 5000, 1, 1, 0, 0);
|
Then this goes into Zone table which you should backup first to be safe in case you need to revert.
Quote:
INSERT INTO `zone_points` (`id`, `zone`, `version`, `number`, `y`, `x`, `z`, `heading`, `target_x`, `target_y`, `target_z`, `target_heading`, `zoneinst`, `target_zone_id`, `target_instance`, `buffer`, `client_version_mask`) VALUES (1446, 'nektulos', 0, 3, 0, 0, 0, 0, -108.4, -2027.5, -14.5, 40.3, 0, 27, 0, 0, 4294967295);
|
You could also change and replace the "INSERT INTO" in those code quotes to "REPLACE INTO" if you want it overwrite the current entries rather than simply adding them to a table probably recommend in your case.

Okay, the zone portion failed again, as there is no column with the name, 'Weather'. The Zone point, however, seemes to have worked because I can now zone into Lava....although...as I ran around, not a single mob....
So it appears I can zone in, however, with no mobs, makes for a boring zone...I did get to zone into Sol A, while I saw mobs casting, via the chat section, I fell and died, so no, visual of a mob.
However I do believe we are now on the right track to getting my server to launch!

The 'Weather' category was likely either added or dropped from the DB table. I think it might just be a option to toggle sun, rain, or snow conditions. I'm not sure what's the cause of no mobs in zone for you though.
