Yeah I have that problem also as well as my expansions not showing up so I cant create iksar/vah sir/Beastlord and my luclin textures dont show up.

I think it has something to do with the 10/21 patch but I'm not sure.

I would have to assume it was the patch for two reasons. The last update I did was almost just when the news was posted not to upgrade because the character structure was being changed or something. I forget what the message stated completely and the subject of it -- but it is along these lines. I can play on my server and other servers with no problems. Plus, all classes/races/mobs/items, etc. come up the way they are supposed to -- with the exception of some items.

Ok good so this means its not my files or anything like that. Its most likely because I updated yesterday. That makes me happy because all I have to do now is wait for the next version of the Emu to come out.

This problem has been around for a while. I'm suffering from it and my EQ files are all good. I can play EQ live all day long and not even see a hiccup in char creation.

Ive been told many problems from corrupted guild data to it being blamed on low bandwidth (64k ISDN) to needing to reformat my HD. So far, I don't think a solution has been found. I don't know if the problem is considered important or what to do about it. Been digging into it and trying to find a fix.

I'll let you know if I find anything.

Well mostly I wasn't worried about not being able to get past char selection all I really cared about was the fact that none of the Kunark/Luclin/Velious stuff was showing up i.e. New textures, models, classes, and races.

But I dont worry now because its most likely the new patch screwing me up.

looks like it is the new patch... just tried to set up a local server for the hell of it. got it all up... no errors after a little fooling around. But when i try to connect to it, it says incorrect version :/ oh well. Can't wait for the updated version though

=)

I don't think that the char request bug has anything to do with the patch or the version. When the Emu was running flawlessly on my machine, I could make a char on my own server, but trying to get on anyone else's brought about the errors. Likewise when anyone tried to connect to mine, they got kicked back to world server at name request.

So it's something to do with networking or recognition. I'm not sure what the problem is. Once the patch is solved and EQEmu can be brought back from proverbial purgatory, I'm going to try a few other things.

yeah, I'm having a similar problem. I get my character set up and everything and I hit the enter world button. It starts to load to the world but about 5 seconds later I get booted to the desktop, not even a error message or anything.
