Default Login Questions

I'm sure this has been asked before but since i'm a n00b i'll ask it again. Is there any way to locally connect to a server for a lan game and if not what ports need to be open for the gotfrags login servers

u've to set the goods ips in the db.ini i think and on the loginserver.ini
and you've to start a loginserver on the server and connect to it with the client...
set the goods ips for the server and the clients and modify the eqhost.txt of the client

yeah if you login in to the verant servers, they will automatically replace your eqhost.txt file. Best keep three directories one for real everquest, one for eqemu, and one more for when the fuck up an update patch and your emu doesn't work anymore.

I think i have that problem i have the latest patch and when i try to connect to the server i get an incorrect version error. Is there any way i could get to an old patch or should i just make a copy of the current eq dir and wait until eqemu supports it.

I think old patches may be considered warez but I'm not sure. Yeah I think the best idea would be to make a backup and wait.
