Default After the Patches....

I'm just curious if we are moving towards a client version freeze and moving towards more server/database improvement rather then new feature compatability. Personally it might be a good thing to freeze the eq client at the version in the patcher for a bit. I don't care a bit about playing a frog or dying my armor. I'd much rather the server and databse started to gel.

That would be endorsing warez... Get $20 and buy it. Anyway, it's REALLY hard to enforce a frozen client. People buying gold edition won't be able to use an original disk version. People who have classic CDs wouldn't be compatible with gold. How can we lock it, when the patcher is the only thing that keeps all EQ clients the same?

Well right now we sorta have. The emupatcher thing just restores it to that two patches ago level. Obviously, the work would be on keeping that patcher running with new changes to the client setup after patching current. Just might give the devs some breathing room.
