Charachter Select Screen Error

I have a 866 mhz 128 mb 25 gig CPU
DSL

I have newest verison of patcher

Problem is: When i get to the charachter select screen, all the graphics are screwed up, i have no backround, the actions of the char are always being copied upon layer. I have a charachter select, but the screen is flashing and such.

Also, whenever i log into a server, I hear the music playing, but there is no "eq logo,"

Hmmm any suggestions ?
