Default Im sorry, but I just have to ask.

Ive been leering around reading and trying and testing for over 3 hours now. Im not angry or anything, but im insanely confused.

My problem is that I always get a timeout error. The login screen is the farthest ive gotten so far, and Im excited because it looks like I should be able to play soon.

Ive done some searching and reading, but im still confused.

I think the problem is that I have too recent of a patch? Ive fully patched EQ up to this day (9/2/04) and have EQ: Classic, Kunark, Velious, Luclin, and Planes of Power (The Gold Edition of EQ sold in retail stores). I do NOT have ykesha, ldon, something else, and Gates of Discord. I read somewhere that I would have to wait for a new version. (if so, is there a projected date of when it will be out?)

I think the reason stated above is the problem because I have tried just about everything in my eqhost.txt....

I have changed it to

[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5996

and when I try to log in, it gives me a timeout error and then automatically changes it to

[LoginServer]
Host=xp-smitchell:7308

I have also tried changing the login server host to login2.eqemulator.net:5996 or whatever is on the home page and that also does not work.

If anyone could give me any clarification on whats going on or what Im doing wrong, it would be great. Thank you for reading.
