CONFUSION: Would someone clear this up?

OK i got 3.10 eqemu, i have the 10-21 patch becuz i had to do a full factory restore and lost all my old stuff (stupid windows) I have the item databases and all but either I can't create a character in eqemu servers (freeze at name) or I get invalid version when I try to use minilogin to play LAN with bro... This is a real pain could someone please please PLEASE clear this up I got downright confused! Without 3.9 minilogin my world.exe gets incorrect version and I cant play, with it my game gets incorrect version and I cant play, am I screwed both ways until a newer emu comes out because all these guides are really starting to confuse me when I read so many different ones that say the same thing (local host/127.0.0.1 for minilogin, I do use mysql, all that is set up only version error/name error)

You have to wait for the next EQEmu release. Of course with verant patching every day all week... It's a pain, but there isn't much that can be done about it right now.

Heh, I have one version that I made a backup of today, and the one that I patched today after installing Planes of Power. Both copies, one for EQEmu runs fine, and the other, great. With the exception, someone crashed the EC`i Server not long ago -- or Verant/Sony decided to shut it off, and without notice. Sigh!

What is this post #500 about it not working?

Someone needs to put a huge scrolling red banner on the front page that says "YES, WE KNOW EQEMU IS BROKEN. NO ETA ON NEW RELEASE. COME BACK LATER. KKTHXBYE~".

blah blah dude i know its a not working question I read others about it, my question was if it was a minilogin error or if i was screwin up my setup because i only get incorrect version when im using minilogin. You should read the whole thing thoroughly next time before flaming. PFFT big red banner, please.

His point is that trying to fix somethign that is known to be broken, and broken in different ways depending on your patch date is a bit pointless.

There are always some unknowns in the behavior (even when the emu is working) Mostly cause not enough information is given. Take a look at how many posts asking for help there are that start with "I followed the readme, but..." Even though following the readme and release notes will get the EMU up and running without problems.

Please, please just wait till a working emu is released then try. And if you want quick help, post your config files, and screens from your world and zone windows (minilogin too if using it)
