Default Other Races?

Havent read too much on this topic, but its got me wondering, is it possible, to use a model for a new race? heres an example:

Use the Old Froglok models, Start them off in Guk and work from there. exc. I know some of the Models dont have the dual weild look, and some animations, but i just wanted to know if its possible, and the difficulty level.
Thanks, much appreciated

Only some of the models are Global Models. Meaning they can load In all zone Areas... The rest of the models are zone models .
I know the old Frogloks are Global models. Therefore that is possible.
As well the werewolf , Elementals, Invisable man, Imp, wolf, Alligator, Bear, Tiger, Skeleton, and Scaled Wolf models.
The enchanter illusion spells, or Pet spells pretty much shows what is global or not

And the God Models are gobal In most areas as well

The major issue is in picking the race, since the client only supports those that come with EQ. That's not to say that ingame "#" commands couldn't change your race to something else, though.

You'd have to augment the server to not have available player races hardcoded, but flexible. Maybe a table that lists available player races? Then server operators could choose additional races that suit them.

If the server devs are serious about it, let me know. It wouldn't take much work at all to augment the admin tool to let a player have *any* race.

Models are client side, and adding a bunch of models to the global char file, Will kill memory and load times. When the live client code is done you'll be able to add models with the LoY text files, have a look at duak_chr.txt, without haveing to modify any s3d's.

Windcatcher, the servers don't really care what race you are, except for skill tables, which are trivial to add for new races to the database, there is one or two sections of code that would need addidtions, GetEXPForLevel() and races.h/cpp
