I need a guide to compiling using GCC

Is anybody able to publish a guide for compiling Binarys using GCC?
The gcc package itself is genrally not very helpfull, and I dont have access to .NET Visual Studio. I noticed in another thread that gcc is the only free compiler that is supported (WOW, the search button got used).
