There been an inactive account wipe recently?

Okay first off this has nowt to do with the recent accound db changes. Though this post will prolly be overlooked cos of all the ppl complaining thier account dont work after these changes.

Anyway, i had an account "Kalizkhan" a fair while ago, it no longer works (forums or game) so i figure there must have been a wipe, as the account has been inactive for a fair while. I would like my account back but it wont even let me re-register the account name, yet the account is not in the forums list of accounts (on that topic, isnt it a bit insecure having a list of all account names on the forums that anyone can access?).

The reason i want it back is cos i figure the chars will still be on any servers that havnt done an inactive accts wipe themself, i would like to resume playing them.

So have i got any chance of gettin me chars back, Or should i just leave the suckers for dead?

All accounts that are inactive on the forums and the login server for a couple months are deleted every week or so. I don't think you can reregister them and still have them work with your old characters because the account won't have the exact same info. It may be possible to have an admin reactivate it or one of the server admins could alter your characters in the server DB to corespond to your new account.

First of all, the VAST majority of people dont have a problem with the changes, and for the ones that do its usually because they didnt READ the directions. I probably should have ignored this post just because of your attitude when your asking for support, but maybe someone else is having the same problem and will know how to use the search button in the future. As for the part about it being insecure, phpbb as a whole is insecure thats why we arent using it as a login database anymore. For old accounts that were deleted:

I would say thanks for the link, but you obviously werent replying for my benefit, merely for someone else who may have the same problem, as you stated.

Unfortunatley ive lost the email address i used for sighning up for that acct :(, oh well, my fault for letting the email address go.

My "attitude when asking for support"... WTF are you on about, i read the support section and see at least 5 new posts from ppl who's accts werent working after the db change. Now i know if i was helping ppl out answering questions in support section and there was that many post being created for 1 simple thing like that, i would get sick of telling ppl to use forum search or refering them to the numerous other posts with the same question answered, and i would just start skipping those posts, not even bothering to read them. Thus, my problem sounds very similar at the same time, so would be easily overlooked.

I know the vst majority of ppl arnt having any problems with changes, i know the majority of ppl who are having problems, are having those problems because they didnt read the directions. Still dosnt change the fact that a lot of ppl were posting about it, thus making this similar post easliy overlooked.

I dont know what "Attitude" you seem to think i have when asking a simple question, but perhaps you should read back through your reply and reconsider your own attitude.

Thanks for the reply, i figured my chars would still work cos i guesed the game server would just identify accts by thier name, so loging into an acct with the same name as my old account, the gameserver would see that as my old account and still have my old chars, so long as the acct hasnt been wiped on the game server due to inactivity.
