Default Crash when attempt to Login

A good buddy of mine has decided to play on WR with me.. but when I was getting ready to log him on, we had some trouble..

1. We wanna play on WR, so I got him the patcher..

2. He patched to live...

3. Then we modified datarate.txt, and eqhost.txt

4. He used WR patcher and files stuff...

5. Registered him an account (not the new way..though)

6. He went into the game, typed in Account name and password...

7. When he pressed the "Connect" button ( or whatever ) the game just kicks him out to the desktop...

7. No error messages or warnings what-so-ever..

I looked around for a forum that might awnser my question, but that didn't work..

I just wanna know what can i do to make this work out on his computer?

Thanks in advance!

Patch to live

extract eqfix.zip or whatever file they supply to you then

run the patcher

login and play

You have to change eqhost.txt after you patch to WR, not before.

It may fix it, its one thing you weren't doing right, but it may not be the only thing.

Correct unless you patched to European Patch servers.

When I said patch near the end, i meant patch to the WR patcher, not the Live one..

Or is that what you meant?

Funky, if you learned about EQemu from a site such as www.rpgexpert.com , the EQhost they told you to type in was an old host, had like 8 lines to it. That is also a reason why it didnt work....
