With new expansion they are some news skins for Rat and bat :

This mini tutorial explain how change that :

BE WARNING, make save before use this patch !

1/ server side (Database update) with mysql prompt

UPDATE npc_types SET race=415 WHERE race=36;
UPDATE npc_types SET race=416 WHERE race=34;

Now all your neewbies zones have news skins for rate and bat.

the newbie zones already have the new models loaded , you just have to change the model number .. however your way will change them for everyzone

You 're right !!!
For bat and rat in neewbie zone no need to declare them global
That make by freportew.txt for freeport west by example :
