Default How can some servers update and log in

I was curious why updating to the current version of live will break our EQEMU? when Shards of Dalaya clients can update and still play there? how is that possible and is there someway to do the same here?

Because most of server, when you start your everquest, don't need any files for work (If you have right version).

Few servers have a patcher for two things :
-Download some custom content (new zones, graphics, etc...)
-Download right version of everquest files for work with server.

The second point is forbbiden in Eqemulator, (speak, distribute or link) that was you don't find anything about patcher on eqemulator (Forum rules : http://eqemulator.net/forums/announcement.php?f=586 )

Shards of dalaya need everquest client software compatible with 0.5.7 (i'm right ?). Nobody can't find this, if server not distribute them. That why, i supose, Shards of dalaya is independant from Eqemulator ?
