Default EQGAME.EXE keeps crashing

Fresh install of Titanium Retail, followed guidelines on play guide, copy/pasted info for login server, as well is info for eqgame shortcut. eqgame.exe crashes when I log in.

please note before you flame, I didn't patch to live, and I have read recent posts thoroughly and did not locate a similar problem.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Check the basics first:

-Verify/Install the latest DirectX Version
-Verify/Install most recent videocard drivers.
-Check your routing if applicable.

If that results in no joy, post your machine stats and EQEmu config files.

Try using my eqclient.ini - it has most everything turned off, that can be turned off. if it works, start to turn stuff on a little at a time, until you reproduce your problem.
Rename your original eqclient.ini to eqclient.ini.org or something so you can salvage it if you need it back.

EDIT;
This ini is set to 16bit color mode, so set your desktop to the same (for now)

As a follow-up to my post here;
That eqclient.ini I posted - uses the "bare mininum" of memory needed for the client (you can train your client to use up to 512k mem) - this is helpful if you're playing on the server with the same machine.
