Anyway, Vaion is going on vacation and I can barely afford to keep the server running up anymore at a cost of $300 for electricity, I will be cutting down on how long I host it. Anyone wanting to send me complaints about the server being down for days whatever, I am on a different time zone than you most likely and I will refuse to even host it anymore if I keep getting complaints. We've put a lot of work onto this server with hours of scripting and sht. Anyways, I might think of cutting it off completely.

Just a heads up for people thinking about trying this server:
It is a cool server and has really good scripted events,but the hosts attitude problem will surely drive you away.

I went to the server because I saw his post here http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/showthread.php?t=26446 saying that it's now hosted 24/7,and they're looking for more population.I get there and lvl chars for 3 days,and then the guy starts shutting the server down for like 10 hours every night overnight,which is when I normally would be playing.I go to the forums and ask about it in a not rude way,and state that I only play on/came there because he said it's hosted 24/7,so if it's going to be getting shut off all the time I'm not going to put any more time into it.

Then the guy comes back on the forums all pissed off running his mouth at me saying,I don't need you comming here saying shit,If anything like this happens again I'm not gonna host the server for you ungratefull people,and bitching about how he shuts the server off because his electric bill is $300 dollars from leaving his computer on.

Like I said above,I wouldn't of came to your server if it wasn't posted that it's on 24/7.I don't like to waste my time lvling chars to not be able to even get into the server to use them.Servers that are not 24/7 are usually nothing but a hassle,and run by young immature kids who's mommy shuts their computer off at nite nite time.I didn't force you to post that you are hosting 24/7,so don't run your mouth at me for being pissed that you are not 24/7 and wasted my time.You posted it-your fault not mine.And about your electric bill...all this crap is happening less then 1 week after posting that your hosting it 24/7?? Did you not think about this stuff before you posted looking for population? If your not responsable enough to run a server don't try to get people to come to it and waste their time.

The funniest thing about the whole situation is when he said... other people in my house shut the server off too,so if it's gets shut off it's NOT MY FAULT!!

Yes it is nobody's fault but your own if you can't keep other people from shutting off YOUR computer.You want me to waste my time playing on your server when you have random people just shutting your server off whenever they feel like it?So you shut it off every night over night,and then other times during the day at random times other people will just shut it off too??....Nice,sign me up,sounds real organized and mature!! Thanks for wasting my time and then trying to get pissy with me and spin it around like I'm the a$$hole.

Since all of this,he has obviously just thrown a temper tantrum and taken the server and forms down.If he ever gets it back up,it would be a really good server if they can get hosting and he tones down his attitude problem and immature fits when someone is posting the truth.

This is just my experience,and a precautionary heads up for people that like 24/7 servers.

everybody hosts there server for free basically, some take donations but its there time and money going into making servers that you, yourself can choose to play on. If it gets to expensive for him to run 24/7 big deal its his choice to turn it off when he wants. its not like your paying him $15 a month to play, in which case you would have every right to attack him, but playing for free and attacking him on his forums and here and calling him immature is just hypocritical.

if you want a server that you know will be up for 24/7 start your own.

I was kind of aggravated about being complained about the server being down, how people are mad about saying "oh I wasted all this time on this server and now it is down".. I want to keep it up, Vaion is on vacation and will not be able to work on it but I will bring it up now and keep it up..

I have not asked for donations so we will try to work out something with a dedicated server..

So see how that goes..

first off, so what people host it for free? all the kid was saying is dont put 24/7 hosting if its not true.....how can you argue with that? no one cares about your sad electric bill story....computers only cost on average 11 dollars every 3-4 days not that it matters simply dont put 24/7 if your not sure you can, just like you dont tell a girl you have a 12 inch crank and then show her your 3 inch

Ok, I said PRACTICALLY 24/7. Not "It WILL BE hosted 24/7" I explained that I am TRYING to host it 24/7 but I can not guarantee. They get the idea that I literally meant 24 hours 7 days a week.
This is what I am arguing against. People need to re-read when I explain things.
