Default Unable To Connect

So I found out about this place a week ago, and have since been trying to get it up and running. Every time I get to the login screen, I get an Invalid Username/Password. I've searched the forums, FAQ's, and WIKI and everything I read has been saying to do the things I've already tried. Here's what I know and maybe I've gotten too close to the problem and overlooked somemthing:

-Running Vista, no issues, I know how to set permissions.
-Host file is set accurately.
-Patchme is added correctly in the shortcut properties.
-Login PW is 6 characters long.
-Signed up 2 different login accounts, neither worked.

I tried using my forum name/pass once and got asked if I wanted to start a 14 day trial. This leads me to believe (obviously) that I'm connecting to live instead, though I've completely removed the files from my computer and have started from scratch everytime with the same results. What have I missed? Thanks for any assistance.

Sounds like you created your shortcut to everquest.exe instead of eqgame.exe. Either way, it definitely sounds like you have patched at least somewhat. You will need to uninstall EQ, delete the EQ folder completely, and then reinstall Titanium or SoF again directly from the retail disks.

Sure enough that was it, I knew I was doing something stupid. Thank you very much.
