Default IRC Question

Since Trifocus has been having these problems during the day, and do not seem to really care about the people on the network except #showeq, I was wondering how many people would mind a move. We could go with our own irc.eqemu.net as a solo server (just think, it will never split), or we could add it to a network.

Give us your opinions. I have put a poll on this message. If you would like "Link irc.eqemu.net to other network", please put a reply in this thread about what network, and why.

a new irc chan is most deff. needed

i couldnt even get on trifocus today...had to use irc.krisp.com (np there).

I say link it to an outside network (maybe some peeps will see it and come in to learn what EQEMU is.)

Another network is cool but would you still endure the net splits. I run my own IRC server because of the damn netsplits and love it. Though I only have a few people on it it still works.

Yes, but depending on the network, it will be better or worse. Look at trifocus. it is a cable/dsl irc network run on 486's (checkout the trifocus webpage for system stats). irc.eqemu.net is current a 100mbps connected box that is connected to the net via 6 1gbps links.

Which do you think would run better in a small network? all T1+ connected boxes or dialups?

I voted link to another network. Reason is, my network(www.irctoo.net) needs users and servers. Also, I'm an Asst. admin there. Finally, it'd save me having to fire up a new client to chat with you guys.
