Default Original EQ and Expansions?

Now I have installed my EQ from 450mb exe. Is there any advantages why I should buy original EQ and some expansions?

To have access to the expansions. That's about it that I can think of.

So I can use all new things which come with expansions? Like new items and horses etc.

Items yes, horses arent coded in yet I dont think.
I could be wrong.

No, horses are not yet coded but at the rate we are going, they should be in soon.
