MySQL and Word.exe question, any help apreciated

I'm trying to set up a lan server with no internet on Windows ME. Here's the problem:

Using database 'eq' at localhost

All the files are in the right place. I've read the readme many many times. the DB.ini and Login.ini are all as they should be. I'm using MySQL version 3.23.56 There is one thing with mysql I think could be the problem. With the MySQLadmin 1.4 (windows version, not dos) under "environment" it lists this:

Could this be my problem? If so, how does one fix it?
